Help grieving people find peace after the loss of a pet.
The Grief Educator Certification is a comprehensive grief training program led by renowned pet grief expert Brigitte Bérubé to help you confidently guide others and heal your own heart.
The reason you're here
You know the pain of loss. You've seen, or witnessed in your clients, how grief and trauma can shatter our hearts, dim hope, and wreak havoc on lives.
You know there's no magic solution to simply "get over" or "move on" from pet loss. And yet, you've also seen that we're more resilient than we ever imagined. You've seen that with time and help, we grow around our painful wounds and can experience the sweetness of peace and remember with more love than pain.
Perhaps you wish there were someone to hold your hand and guide you through the worst days. Or perhaps something inside you whispers that you'd like to help others find peace. Perhaps you'd like to have even more tools and techniques to share with your clients, or even those who come to you as friends, seeking hope.
Together, we can make a big difference. For those in their darkest days, we can shine a light and point the way to peace in your heart.

Grief Hurts
Loss is traumatic, complicated, confusing, and painful.
Counselors and therapists often tell me they open their office doors to see a patient blindsided by an anticipated loss. Now, they feel the overwhelming stress and frustration that their education failed to prepare them for the depths of excruciating pain.
There is a lamentable lack of emphasis on pet grief in today's professional and academic training.
So often, those grieving for their pet loss are stuck in rumination, guilt, and "what ifs."
As helping professionals, we expect to have the answers. We want to know how to compassionately guide someone out of the agonizing grip of grief. And yet, we see their pain consume them week after week, session after session.
As a certified pet grief counselor, you'll learn best practices, the most effective strategies, and the words that inspire hope and change. You'll understand the six needs of the grieving person and feel confident in a gentle yet pragmatic approach proven to transform struggle into hope.
About Brigitte
With over a decade of experience in counseling, I stand out for my ability to quickly connect during interventions and help guide the bereaved. Passionate about psychology, I regularly pursue new approaches to help people with their challenges. My interventions are unique to each individual, despite the similarities.
I am a social work technician and also have training as a counseling therapist, end-of-life support, and with the Alzheimer's Society. I have 18 years of experience in the hospital environment, where I have encountered death on a daily basis. I have developed expertise in pet grief support following the multiple deaths of my pets. I have lost six pets in less than two years, all in different ways. When someone tells me about the passing of their beloved pet, I touch them deeply.
